Harvard University, Cambridge, MA USD25,000 U.S. / Alternative N/A None The endowment is eyeing several alternative investments. In particular, it is keen on real estate and commodities.

  Other off-the-beaten-path investments could include infrastructure, alternative energy, and natural resource plays through hedge funds and private equity.
