Dalhousie Eyes Alternative Managers

Stan Spavold Dalhousie University is examining hedge fund and real estate investments for its roughly CAD1 billion portfolio. The Halifax, Nova Scotia-based school is looking to replace an axed hedge fund manager and may look at international real estate managers this spring, said Stan Spavold, chairman of the investment committee. It is also reviewing its fixed-income investments and has four value-equity managers on watch.
